This one (1) day reaccreditation course provides participants with updated information on the latest changes and requirements to safely and efficiently operate a truck-mounted attenuator (TMA). Truck-mounted attenuator operators play an important role in operating TMAs in ensuring all other members of the work crews are adequately protected from out of control errant vehicles in or around a work zone, a trafficable lane, or road verge area. TMAs are designed to safely absorb the kinetic energy of an errant vehicle should it impact it. Drivers must have the knowledge and understanding for work crew safety including the correct location, providing suitable shunt-forward distances, adequate warning systems for work crew and travelling public if possible.

This one (1) day reaccreditation course is for participants who holds current BWTM accreditation however, do not directly undertake temporary traffic management roles at worksites, such as parking inspectors, surveillance officers, grader operators and verge mowers etc. But they have previously gained BWTM accreditation and are finding it difficult to provide evidence of active industry engagement when applying for a BWTM Re-accreditation. In these cases, rather than re-sitting the full BWTM course, they may sit a reaccreditation course and gain a more restrictive BWTM Non-Practitioner accreditation without the need to provide evidence of industry experience. The course provides participants with updated information on the latest changes and requirements to safely implement traffic management and control traffic for works on roads within the parameters of a restricted BWTM Non-Practitioner accreditation. The course is delivered face to face and includes mandatory practical training and assessments.

This seven (7) hour, non-accredited course is a minimum requirement for all persons working at events on roads with a posted speed limit of 60kph or less. This short course provides participants with the necessary skills to implement event warning signs and maintain the safety of event goers and road users. The course is delivered face to face and includes simulated practical training and assessments. This level of Main Roads WA accreditation is suited to event organisers/managers, event community groups or event volunteers.
