Knowledge of the latest regulatory and industry changes and requirements over the last 3 year period

Knowledge about changes to legislative resources such as Main Roads WA Code of Practice for Works on Road & Events, Austroads Guides etc

Verification of skills to correctly position and operate a TMA in different work scenarios

Verification of skills to complete pre-operational inspection checks of a TMA

Verification of skills operating a TMA at static and mobile worksites including emergency planning preparedness

Verification of skills correctly communicating, two-way radio communications and operating a VMS and arrow board devices on the TMA

Provide a Unique Student Identifier (USI)

Have good English literacy and reading skills as training will involve reading work instructions, writing safety documentation and interpreting traffic guidance schemes

Have good level of physical fitness/health as training will involve lifting/moving signs and devices (approximately 6-8kgs each), setting up/packing down sites and getting in/out heavy vehicles frequently.

Hold a Statement of Attainment in RIICOM201E Communicate in the workplace or equivalent

Hold a Statement of Attainment in RIIRTM301E Operate a truck or trailer mounted attenuator

Hold a current and valid HR Heavy Vehicle Licence to operate a TMA

Have evidence of being issued with a valid Worksafe WA Construction Safety Awareness Training Card (blue card) or Construction Induction (White Card)

Hold a current Main Roads WA Basic Worksite Traffic Management (BWTM) accreditation

Hold a current Main Roads WA Operate Truck Mounted Attenuator (OTMA) accreditation

Details of a minimum of three (3) worksites with a supervisor’s contact details that can be verified. Details required to provide will include the date of work, site location and suburb, description of works, contractor, supervisor name and contact details. These must be within the last twelve (12) months

A completed and signed site specific SMWS, JSA or other hazard assessment used on a worksite by the applicant within the last twelve (12) months

Provide documentary evidence of operating TMAs at six (6) worksites in the last six (6) months performing both set-out and close down of the Traffic Guidance Scheme. Details required to provide will include the date of work, site location and suburb, description of works, contractor, supervisor name and contact details
