TMA Training Course Changes

Main Roads WA has recently made some changes to the pre-requisite requirements for the Operate Truck Mounted Attenuator (OTMA) training course.

What are the changes?

Previously, in order to meet the Main Roads WA pre-requisite requirements to Operate Truck Mounted Attenuator (OTMA) Training you needed to:

  • Have documentary evidence of at least 50 hours experience traffic management in the last 6 months including:

Completed and signed SWMS used on a worksite by the applicant

Minimum 1 of the following: risk assessment participation or pre-start documentation

This has now been changed to:

  • Have documentary evidence of at least 40 hours experience driving a heavy vehicle in the last 12 months
  • Have documentary evidence of traffic management in the last 12 months including:

A completed and signed site-specific risk assessment used on a worksite by the applicant (may be a SWMS, JSA or other hazard assessment document)

Provide details of a minimum of 3 worksites with the name of supervisor and details of contact number to be verified. Details required to provide will include the date of work, site location and suburb, description of works, contractor, supervisor name and contact details.

The above-listed requirements and evidence must be supplied with your enrolment and no later than ten (10) working days prior to the training course commencement date.
