The key difference between these two accreditation’s is that the BWTM/TC accreditation allows you to implement signage and stop / control traffic, whereas the BWTM only permits you to implement signage. The BWTM/TC accreditation is our most popular course and is required to become a qualified Traffic Controller. Whereas the BWTM is more suited to job roles that work off the road, in verge areas such as surveyors, landscapers, plant operators etc.

To obtain a Main Roads WA BWTM/TC accreditation, it is a requirement to hold a non-learner Western Australian or an equivalent interstate driver’s licence, except an R-N (Moped) class, or an overseas equivalent driver’s licence from a country that is recognised by the Western Australian Department of Transport. It is recommended to obtain your full driver’s licence first, and then undertake the course.
