A man who hit and killed a popular traffic controller and cyclist while driving almost 100km/h over the speed limit in a roadworks zone could walk free from prison in less than a year. The court heard the driver ignored heavy signage alerting drivers to roadworks leading up to where the Traffic Controller was killed. A dump truck, displaying a lit up sign re-enforcing the 60km/h speed limit, did little to stop the driver who ploughed into the Traffic Controller at an estimated 154km/h.
Please ALWAYS slow down around roadworks.
