The Mining, Drilling and Civil Infrastructure (MDCI) Industry Reference Committees (IRCs) have identified that the Resources and Infrastructure Industry (RII) Training Package has significant training product gaps for job roles in temporary traffic management and bituminous surfacing.
In response, PwC’s Skills for Australia and the MDCI IRCs are currently undertaking two projects to ensure training products in the RII Training Package are fit for purpose and reflect industry’s needs: 1B Traffic Management and 1G Bituminous Surfacing.
This project aims to update training products for traffic controllers, implementers and designers working in temporary traffic management to reflect the current needs of industry. The scope of the project includes:
- Creating eight new skill sets for traffic controllers, traffic management implementers and traffic management designers to address industry demand for training in these fields
- Updating three units of competency used in temporary traffic management to reflect current industry practices and clarify training outcomes for learners and assessors
- Creating seven new units of competency for temporary traffic management on multilane roads, motorways and freeways to address industry demand for training in these fields.
These draft training products are now available for your feedback.
This is the final chance for you to provide feedback on draft training products before they are published on training.gov.au.
How to provide your feedback
We urge industry to take the time and review these proposed changes and HAVE YOUR SAY. Feedback on the draft training products in the scope of this project will be accepted up until COB June 21, 2019.
