This qualification reflects the role of a skilled operator working in civil construction, who applies a broad range of skills in a varied work context, using some discretion and judgement and relevant theoretical knowledge. There are theory and practical training and assessment components to the course. Skills will be trained and assessed through a mixture of off-the-job and on-the-job training and assessment.

Yes. Learners must be employed either full or part-time and have access to a workplace to be able to gain sufficient experience to successfully complete the unity of competency requirements.

There are a variety of career pathway options you can consider such as; Road construction/maintenance worker, Traffic management worker, Labourer in Civil Construction, Plant operator just to name a few.

This qualification is offered as an apprenticeship. This qualification was previously available as a traineeship, however in late 2021 it was approved and endorsed to become an apprenticeship pathway.

We currently offer two specialisation pathways; General and Traffic Management. Within each specialisation we have selected units that match industry needs.
